Dan Grades

In Wado Ryu karate all students start as 10th Kyu (white belt). By working hard students can progress all the way to the Dan Grades (Black Belts).

When you reach your 1st Dan, your journey is not over, in fact most serious karate practitioners consider that their 1st Dan is the true start of their karate career. 1st Dan literally means 1st rung.
